France is always a good idea

Our trip to France was an exciting opportunity to gather inspiration for our long-awaited cookbook! We explored the enchanting streets of Paris and immersed ourselves in the delightful world of French wine, food, and all things gastronomic. We sampled delectable pastries, and savored mouthwatering cheeses in the most charming French villages. We sailed down the Rhône and took in the picturesque landscapes of Burgundy and Provence.

Here are a few captured moments from our journey. And remember, our upcoming cookbook will feature some of your all-time favorite dishes, perfected with a touch of French flair.

Hôtel Le Cep, Beaune

Our two-day sojourn at Hôtel Le Cep in Beaune, was a journey into the heart of history and luxury, an experience that will forever be etched in our memories. As we entered the doors of this remarkable hotel, we were transported back in time to the 16th century, where cobblestone streets and vine-covered walls whispered tales of centuries gone by.

A majestic gem nestled in the heart of Beaune, Hôtel Le Cep is a living testament to the grandeur of the past. The building, steeped in history and architectural brilliance, exudes an aura of elegance and grace. Every corner of the hotel tells a story, from the intricately carved wooden doors to the ornate ceilings adorned with chandeliers. Staying within its historic walls felt like being part of a captivating novel, where the pages were filled with the essence of old-world charm.

Enchanting courtyards adorned with vibrant blooms and ancient trees provided a serene sanctuary, inviting us to linger and soak in the tranquility (while sipping a glass of burgundy and playing a game of cards). It was a pleasure to wander through the beautifully manicured spaces, savoring the fragrant air and reveling in the sense of peace that enveloped us.

Although the Michelin-starred restaurant was closed during our stay, Hôtel Le Cep didn't disappoint in the culinary department. The garden brunch was a feast for the senses. We enjoyed classic French pastries and fresh squeezed juices, sipped on expertly crafted cocktails and bathed in dappled sunlight surrounded by lush greenery.

Beyond the walls of Hôtel Le Cep lay the captivating town of Beaune. Known for its rich history and world-renowned vineyards, charming boutiques, cozy cafés, and bustling market lined the streets, we immersed ourselves in the local lifestyle. The hotel's central location allowed us to easily explore the town's iconic attractions, including the Hospices de Beaune, a true architectural marvel, and the renowned wineries that dotted the picturesque countryside, and La Moutarderie Fallot, the last independent and family mustard mill in Burgundy.

One of the highlights of our trip was our visit to the Albert Bichot Winery, a short distance from Hôtel Le Cep. Stepping into the vineyard felt like stepping into a realm of wine-making magic. The knowledgeable guide, shared the rich history and artistry behind each bottle. The wine tasting experience was exceptional, allowing us to savor the complexity of Burgundy wines and deepened our appreciation for the region's winemaking heritage.

Hôtel Le Cep was a symphony of luxury and history. Every moment was a celebration of the senses. Beaune, with its charming allure, served as the perfect backdrop to this unforgettable escapade. Hôtel Le Cep not only provided a place to stay but also became the embodiment of a timeless French dream, a destination that we will never forget.
