This rule sparked the legendary, high-stakes "Great Race from Beaujolais"—a mad dash where winemakers, distributors, and enthusiasts competed to see who could deliver the very first bottles from the vineyards of France to restaurants and pubs worldwide. Today, that competitive race has evolved into a global celebration, making it the world's most famous "instant" wine party.
